Hello everyone and welcome to our review of the best fitbits to buy in 2021.
Fitbits have taken the world by storm in recent years and have become extremely popular, to the point where you can’t go into any gym or to a running group and somebody isn’t wearing one.
They’ve managed to become a must have fitness accessory and it’s easy to see why they’re so popular.
We’ve tried them, We’ve tested them and now we’re reviewing them.
Before we dive into our guide of the best fitbits to buy let’s get through the jargon first.
What is a FitBit?
Firstly, FitBit is actually the name of the brand and not the product which is easily confused.
FitBit produces two core product categories – fitness trackers and smart watches.
They have three different ranges available which means there’s something to suit everyone- such as Fitbit charge, Fitbit inspired and Fitbit ace
Fitbit charge is their most expensive product and is one of the best fitbits out there, it comes in a range of colours, has different size straps and has great modern technology such as linking to your phone which means you get mobile notifications wherever you go.
There’s the touch screen so you can reply to messages if you need to oh and of course some exercise related stuff such as a heart rate monitor, smartphone connectivity as well as being waterproof meaning you can take it for a swim! – just check the manufactures specifications on how far you can go with it. There’s also built in GPS which is a cool feature to have and isn’t found on the other fitbits yet.
The Fitbit inspire is similar to the charge in many ways for example it comes with the heart rate monitor and connects to your smartphone. A great feature of this model is that it tracks your sleep which is handy for those wanting to know how well or badly their sleep is.
The Fitbit ace is the brands kids watch and is designed to be used by children aged 6 years and over.
It’s essentially a fairly basic and small fitness device that tracks things like your steps and physical activity and also connects to your smartphone too.
It is splash proof but not waterproof meaning if you get a few splashes on it it’s fine but you can’t go for a swim wearing it.
How does a Fitbit work?
To the few people left on the planet that don’t know what a Fitbit is a Fitbit is a digital watch used to keep track of many things including your daily steps, running, biking and some can even track your swimming as well as monitoring your heart rate and connecting to your phone.
If you’re into your fitness then it’s the ideal solution for you as not only does it do all of the above but can also check your route and pace levels.
Bear in mind that not all fitbits are the same and some will have slightly different features.
So that’s what it does but how does it do it?
Fitbits used a complex algorithm that can basically tell the difference between walking, running, cycling and the other exercises you’re doing.
There’s a built in pedometer that will track your steps so you can keep an eye on the exact number you’ve done and an altimeter which tracks how many steps you’ve walked up too which is perfect for those Rocky Balboa moments!
What is Fit Bit pay?
Well it seems that just about every tech company is offering their own payment applications nowadays and Fitbit is no different.
Fitbit pay is exactly what it says it is and does exactly what it says it does- let’s you pay for things with your Fitbit!
All you need to do is connect your bank account to your Fitbit and away you go!
So if you’ve tried the competition such as Apple Pay, Samsung pay, Google pay oh and contactless credit and debit cards or actual money then you can always give this a bash too.
Where can I buy a Fit bit?
Great question. The short answer is right HERE.
The longer answer is
As the two biggest electrical retailers in the country they can undercut the competition fivefold and that’s what they tend to do.
AO fitbits are available here and can often be found on sale around Black Friday or in January sales – that time of year when just about everyone wants to get on the exercise after the Christmas binge.
Currys Fitbits are available here and usually are on sale around the same time, although we’ve found they’re more willing to keep the sale going for longer and will often price match the competition too.
The Fitbit sense is one of the flagship fitbits available right now and is a stylish smart device.
You’d expect to pay around £300 to get your hands on this device which is no surprise given its features.
- Detailed mood and stress logging
- On-board GPS for workouts
- Extremely comfortable to wear
- Many tools require Fitbit Premium
- Step counts not 100% accurate
The Fitbit Sense is one of the best Fitbits and smart watches on the market right now. It’s been built with the user in mind and gives you all the data you need to keep your exercises tracked and help you understand your body and mind better which makes it easier to improve both your mental health and physical health.
Like many smart and fitness watches this model also includes an ECG sensor which can help detect any issues with the heart but also has a handy stress monitor which we think is a more important feature, we live in a stressful world which seems to be getting more stressful so the stress monitor is a handy tool to help you notice stress and manage it.
Some of the tools available on this model such as videos and tutorials are only available to Fitbit plus users which like everything good nowadays comes at a premium, however the benefit of this model is you also get a free trial when you buy this watch.
