Created by Dutch entrepreneur Willia e Sluiter, Incredible Roses are the result of years of dedicated breeding and selection to bring you a rose that is as good on the table as it is in the garden. Willia e is constantly working to improve the range and says: ‘The fact that roses also taste good and contain vitamins is still new for many people’. All parts of the plant are edible – flowers leaves and hips, and you can use them in all ma er of soups, salads, pasta dishes – or just use them as edible decoration. Each variety has its own distinctive taste and you’ll amaze friends and family with the edible leaves and petals of each variety. The range of roses comes in various colours and have distinctive flavours, smells and colours, and each variety is quite different and includes for example citrus, raspberry and spicy flavours and this pink and white mix have a subtle blend of fruity and floral flavours. These stu ing potted plants are ideal as both indoor and outdoor roses and are supplied indoor-grown in bud for harvesting the edible flowers all winter – perfect as an a iversary gift or as a table decoration. Easy to grow, they will need no special treatment and can be grown in a border or in a large pot outside, and it also makes great indoor house plants too. Specifications Supplied in 10.5cm pots, 1 each of pink, white and purple. Availability: June to August Top Tips Roses are hungry plants. Feed with a general-purpose fertiliser until flower buds begin to form. Once in flower, use a high-potash fertiliser – such as tomato feed – for more flowers. Care Information Grow in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun. Roses can be planted at any time of the year, as long as the soil is not frozen, waterlogged or drought-dry. Plant your rose where it can get plenty of sun for at least half of the day, and where it will be sheltered from the wind. Plant with the graft union just below the soil level. Roses tolerate a wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, so add plenty of well-rotted manure into the hole if necessary. Water well every other day – daily if the weather is hot and dry. Established roses can be watered around once a week through spring and summer – more if the weather is hot. For best results, feed roses in late March or April and again in late July. Provide good air circulation and remove fallen leaves and faded flowers to keep plants in tip-top condition. In late winter or early spring, prune hard (back to 10 -18 inches) and reduce side shoots to 2 or 3 buds. To renovate out of condition plants, or to add renewed vigour, prune one in three stems close to the base. To prune, you would traditionally cut just above a leaf joint with a sloping cut away from the bud, however, this isn’t necessary, and don’t worry about pruning too much – roses are very resilient and will grow back.
